PAY YOURSELF

No matter how much you would want to save, invest or stick to your budget, it is always important to pay yourself. I believe this is one of the things that keeps you motivated even to continue working hard for it and managing it well. How do you feel when you achieve something that you have been working for, for sometime now, how do you feel when someone finally pays your debt or just a parent gives you money. For me i have to pay myself first even if it means buying a sweet.
Have you ever encountered those people who even spending a shs10 they’ll be like “how do you just buy that for shs10 ” not because they are stingy but sometimes it’s because they really don’t know what it means by paying yourself. For you that might be a payment for good grades, or just maybe something good has happened to you today so buying something little with some amount doesn’t hurt.
The other time my mum was telling us that December she will just go for a vacation and relax her and all of us smiled and looked at each other. Coming to think of it, this year might be a bit hectic for her, or she might have just achieved some of her goals that she deserves to pay for it. Maybe while she planning or budgeting for her money at some point she said that “if i manage to do this then i will use this money for my vacation in December.
“Appreciate the little things we do or achieve in life ”
You can also pay yourself by doing something you love most maybe hobby or talent or just visiting a children’s home somewhere to make a heart happy. Serving others with your money (next post). Some people really feel fulfilled when they use some little cash they have to serve someone out there and they get to appreciate them, with that you will be paying yourself.
How do you pay yourself during weekends, after having a hectic week or a week full of success and happiness? Most of my Saturday when come from church i rarely cook i buy some fries then Sunday i cook my favorite meal or something that i feel i have missed so much. I tell myself that one, it is by God’s grace that i have reached this far,  the week has been good too and atleast i have some cash to pay myself. (remember you have a budget be smart while playing yourself and do not be mean with your money)
Finally¡’the easiest way to save is to fold your money and put it in your pocket’… Do not forget to pay yourself, however little it may be, as long as it makes you happy.✋
